Visiting Artist

Ethnomusicologist, Richard Graham, visited Riverbend.    Richard Graham was chosen through the Western Arts Agencies of North Carolina’s Mountain Arts Program.  The residency was possible through a grant from the Haywood Arts Council.  Richard travels to schools around the country, performing World Music and retelling folklore for young people.  He has collected hundreds of instruments, songs, and stories from his research trips in South America, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States.  Richard’s educational music programs have recently been nationally profiled on NBC and CNN.
